3rd World Farmer Reflection

In this game we were supposed to survive and fund a family. The game showed the reality of places in poverty and how people live. I planted crops and educated my children as much as I could. I also married my son with a person to get more money.  A short-term decision is a decision that somebody did in a short time. The people that make these decision are people that think about now, food and money for the food etc. Short-term decisions could really affect the person in the future. People in poverty could get stuck by needing fast money and immediate resources. People will be worrying about food and water. They won’t see the big picture. People can get out of the cycle of poverty by getting help and being educated. They need to make the right choices to be on the right track. Long-term decisions are when people think about the future such as education or vaccinating themselves. These decisions are good because they can get you out of the cycle of poverty and help you succeed in the long run. Because everybody will be better off and be able to fend for themselves. They will be smart and think wisely before making any major decisions. Everybody will have the basic needs (food, water and shelter).The events that happened in third world farmer are real and that it is no laughing matter when most of the world is in danger and debt. Live Ethically would symbolize this game very well because it is a choice that separates you from greatness and despair. This game really relates to all of the MDG’s because they all symbolize what happens in the game. But to me the one goal that rings in my ear is Universal Education. I chose this goal because if somebody educates their children they will let the next generation get out of the cycle of poverty. You could include a quote…at the start or the end…this helps to give your work ‘power’.
